2.Main features of the DH-A1L BGA rework station

1. High definition touch screen, PLC control, can save multiple group profile. Show the real-time set and measured temperature with instant temperature curve analysis function. It can show the set and measured temperature. To change and analysis the profile.

2. High-precision K-type thermocouple with close-loop control, power output and control system adopt optical isolation technology. PID self-adjusting system controls the temperature accurately, and the temperature departure is within 2°C. Meanwhile, external temperature sensor makes real-time temperature analyzing and revising possible.

3.Upper and bottom heater can control temperature independent and save many capacity of temperature profile. We can set and change the temperature profile according to the different BGA and PCB on the touch screen. We use the independent PID arithmetic with the three heaters to make the temperature more evenly and accurate.

8.1Hot Air vs. IR BGA Rework Stations

Original equipment manufacturers and PCB contract manufacturers typically use two different types of BGA rework stations: hot air or infrared (IR). What is the difference between these two types of BGA rework machine, and is one better than the other?

Hot air BGA rework stations: Hot air BGA rework stations use hot air to heat up the PCB components during the project. Several different nozzles guide and circulate hot air to ensure even heat distribution. Technicians can move these nozzles to direct air, allowing work on small, delicate components to get accomplished quickly.


8.2BGA Reballing

Reballing of component requires completely stripping any current solder forming BGA spheres and re-apply new / fresh / improved material to re-form solder balls. The process is most expensive option within BGA rework industry as it requires additional tooling and machinery in order to successfully complete the procedure. Considerable amount of time is also spent on developing various profiles to increase success rates, which increases costs to clients.


8.3BGA IC Replacement

By far the most successful process available to recover printed circuit board with BGA failures. However, this process is the most expensive and cannot be applied to obsolete or EOL components. During this process old component has be removed, PCB BGA site cleaned and new component soldered in place. High success rate depends on quality of parts provided by supplier and information available, such as alloy type.
